Path of Exile 2 Introduces Couch Co-op Mode, PS5 Version Revealed
New Zealand-based developer Grinding Gear Games has announced that the latest installment in the "Path of Exile" series, the action RPG "Path of Exile 2," will be coming to PS5. This news was revealed during today’s "State of Play" broadcast.
Set 19 years after the events of Act 5 and Act 10 in the original game, where the final boss Kitava was defeated, "Path of Exile 2" takes place in the world of Wraeclast. Despite a brief period of peace, ambitious power-seekers have thrown the world into chaos once again. Players will embark on new battles and adventures through an all-new campaign spanning seven acts.
Alongside the announcement of the PS5 version, several exciting features were revealed:
Couch Co-op Mode
The PS5 version will introduce a "Couch Co-op" mode, allowing players to enjoy the game with friends on the same console.
Cross-Platform Play and Progression
"Path of Exile 2" will support cross-platform play and cross-platform progression, ensuring a seamless experience across different systems.
Early Access in Late 2024
The game is slated for an Early Access release in the latter half of 2024 across all platforms, giving players a chance to experience the evolved and enriched gameplay of "Path of Exile 2" ahead of its full launch.
