SCHiM: Shadow Action Game Releases Demo on Steam

Developed by Dutch indie game developer Ewoud van der Werf in collaboration with the Extra Nice team, "SCHiM," a shadow-based action game, is set to launch on July 18th. It will be available on PC (Steam/MS Store), Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, with support for Traditional Chinese. A demo version is now available on Steam for players to get a first taste of the game.

"SCHiM" is a 3D platformer where players navigate by jumping between shadows. The term "SCHiM" refers to spirits that reside within the shadows of objects and living beings, never separating from their host. These spirits have been silently protecting their hosts through every experience since birth. However, one day, a SCHiM spirit becomes accidentally separated from its host, and players must help this spirit explore a bustling world to reunite with its owner.

The game features a unique shadow-based movement system, allowing players to explore a beautifully animated world where shadows shift and move. Each level presents different environments and small stories, providing a unique adventure from the perspective of the shadow spirit in a visually stunning and abstract world.

The demo version lets players experience the early stages of the game, starting with the SCHiM spirit’s life before being separated from its human host. Players can control the host within the shadows until an unexpected event causes the separation. Fans who have been eagerly awaiting the game can download the demo now and take on the challenge!
