Get Ready for Pokemon GO's Upcoming ＂Early Summer Break＂ Event!
Niantic, the developer behind the popular mobile GPS game Pokémon GO, has unveiled a series of exciting events for June 2024. Following the recent announcement of the "Sky Arena" event featuring the debut of Shiny Emolga, another thrilling event is set to delight Trainers worldwide.
"Summer Chill" Event: June 7 - June 12
From June 7, 2024, 10:00 AM to June 12, 2024, 8:00 PM (Taiwan time), the "Summer Chill" event will bring new costumed Pokémon into the game. Trainers will have the opportunity to encounter Slakoth, Vigoroth, and Slaking wearing sun hats. With a bit of luck, you might even find their Shiny versions!
During this event, catching Pokémon will grant double XP as a bonus reward. Additionally, taking snapshots during the event might lead to surprise encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Increased spawn rates for the following Pokémon will be featured on the map:
- Psyduck
- Slowpoke
- Drowzee
- Mareep
- Sun Hat Slakoth
- Oranguru
- Sandygast
- Munna
- Komala
Notably, the Shiny version of Komala will make its debut in the game, except for Sandygast, all of these Pokémon can be Shiny.
Field Research and Special Bonuses
Completing Field Research tasks during the event will give Trainers the chance to encounter:
- Psyduck
- Drowzee
- Mareep
- Sun Hat Slakoth
- Oranguru
- Sandygast
- Komala
Trainers will have a higher chance of encountering Shiny Sun Hat Slakoth and Shiny Komala through Field Research compared to regular wild encounters.
Limited-Time Pokémon GO Plus+ Integration
A special Limited-Time Research will be available for Trainers who pair their Pokémon GO Plus+ device with the game. The Pokémon GO Plus+ allows for convenient gameplay with features like auto-throwing Poké Balls and auto-spinning PokéStops. Trainers using the "press button to throw" feature can also toggle between using Great Balls and Ultra Balls.
By participating in this Limited-Time Research, Trainers can earn Stardust and encounter event-themed Pokémon, including:
- Sleep Hat Snorlax
- Sun Hat Slakoth
- Komala
All these Pokémon, including the special Sleep Hat Snorlax, available exclusively through the purchase of Pokémon GO Plus+, have the potential to be Shiny.
