Hotel Barcelona Now Live on Steam: Check Out the Official Page!

White Owls' "SWERY" (Hidetaka Suehiro) and Grasshopper Manufacture's "SUDA 51" (Goichi Suda) have announced their collaboration on a new game titled Hotel Barcelona, slated for release in 2024 on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game's Steam page is now live, and it will support English and Japanese languages.

About the Game

Hotel Barcelona is a violent 2D side-scrolling horror action game infused with the unique aesthetics of the film *Grindhouse*. It is developed by renowned creators SWERY, known for titles such as *Sengoku Basara* and *Drakengard 3*, and SUDA 51, known for *Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse* and the *No More Heroes* series.

Gameplay Features

In Hotel Barcelona, players must continually kill enemies to enhance their abilities through the blood splattered on them. This blood will dry over time, reducing the enhanced effects, so players need to keep killing to maintain their power. A skull-shaped gauge at the bottom of the screen indicates the blood level. Once the gauge is full, players can unleash a powerful special move called "Carnival Awakening," delivering a highly satisfying, all-encompassing attack to wipe out all enemies on screen.

Levels and Bosses

The game features seven distinct areas, each guarded by a formidable boss. These bosses, characterized as serial killers, have unique strengths and abilities. Players must decipher their patterns and utilize their own skills and those of their partners to eliminate these villains and their evil lairs, ultimately stopping the serial killers' reign of terror.
