New Adventure RPG 'Brutal Complex' Releases Exciting Trailer
Independent game team BRUTAL vap has announced the development of a new game titled "Brutal Complex," inspired by works like "Yume Nikki" and "OMORI." The team released the latest game trailer today (22nd).
"Brutal Complex" is an adventure RPG developed by BRUTAL vap using the game creation tool RPG Maker MV. The story follows a mysterious ritual conducted by the protagonist, Nana Koizumi, and a boy on a summer day. They drink each other's blood after biting their skin, discovering a path to a dream world. To uncover the truth, they decide to enter the dream realm.
The trailer begins with a person lying next to a phone covered in blood, followed by scenes of boys and girls playing together at school. The footage then transitions to a room where a boy and a girl are shown biting each other's necks to draw blood. The game started crowdfunding in August 2023 and released a demo on itch.io, but downloads were suspended in January this year, with plans to develop the full version.
In a post on Twitter, the development team mentioned that "Brutal Complex" has undergone significant changes not only visually but also in its storyline, making it almost unrecognizable compared to the demo version. Taking inspiration from "Yume Nikki," they hope "Brutal Complex" will be a game that bridges abstract and concrete elements. They plan to continue developing the game, and those interested are encouraged to follow the team's updates on Twitter for future developments.
