What Carries Over to Seasons in Diablo 4?
The developers of Diablo 4 (D4) have shared details on what will and won't carry over to Seasons, as well as how to transfer progress when Season 1 begins.
What Carries Over to Seasons
1. Campaign Skip for Seasonal Characters
Players can skip the campaign when creating Seasonal characters, allowing them to delve into new gameplay mechanics and storylines without replaying the entire campaign. To access this feature during the Season, players must first complete the main story on at least one character.
2. Mounts
Mounts are permanently unlocked for all future characters once the Mount Donan's Favor Priority Quest is completed for the first time. This unlock extends to Seasonal Characters.
3. Stat and Renown Bonuses from Altars of Lilith
Stats, Murmuring Obol capacity increases, and Renown earned from discovering Altars of Lilith will carry over to Seasons.
4. World Map Discovery and Renown Bonuses
Map discovery progress and Renown earned from discovering locations in each region will carry over to Seasons, removing the fog of war for Seasonal Characters.
5. Weapon and Armor Transmogs
Unlocked Weapon and Armor Transmogs, as well as purchased Shop Cosmetics, will be available to Seasonal Characters.
How to Transfer Progress to Seasons
Log In Using Your Eternal Realm Characters
To transfer progress, including map and Altars of Lilith progress, log in to Diablo 4 from July 18 onwards using one or all of your characters on the account. Logging in with a character that has maxed out Altars of Lilith and map discovery renown is recommended to register the data for transfer to future characters in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms.
What Doesn't Carry Over to Seasons
Aspects, Currencies, and Stashes collected in the Eternal Realm will not carry over to Season 1.
Overall, players can prepare for Season 1 by maximizing progress in the Eternal Realm, particularly by unlocking Altars of Lilith and exploring the world map. This will provide a significant head start for Seasonal Characters when the new season begins.
