Hades 2: Minimum & Recommended PC Requirements
Since its acclaimed launch in 2019, Hades has garnered praise from roguelike fans, who have eagerly awaited a sequel. Luckily, Supergiant Games, the studio behind the original, has spent the last four years crafting another masterpiece for genre enthusiasts. Recently, they unveiled the minimum and recommended PC requirements forHades 2, breaking the silence on this much-anticipated information, which you can find in this guide.
Minimum PC Requirements for Hades 2
GPU: GeForce GTX 950, Radeon R7 360, Intel HD Graphics 630 (or equivalent)
CPU: Dual-Core 2.4 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
Storage: 10 GB (early access)
During the game’s Technical Test phase, it was revealed that Hades 2 would require a minimum of 8 GB RAM, a Dual-Core 2.4 GHz CPU, and a GeForce GTX 950 GPU or an equivalent graphics card. In terms of operating system compatibility, Hades 2 will run on 64-bit Windows 10.
For fans of Hades, the good news is that the game appears to be quite forgiving in terms of system requirements. Based on the minimum GPU and CPU specifications, a gaming PC from late 2015 should handle the game without any issues. However, achieving 4K performance at 60 FPS might necessitate a more robust processor and graphics card.
Recommended PC Requirements for Hades 2
CPU: Quad-Core 2.4 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
Storage: 10 GB (early access)
For optimal performance, Hades 2 will demand a Quad-Core 2.4 GHz CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and either a GeForce RTX 2060, Radeon RX 5600 XT, or Intel Arc A580 graphics card.
Despite Hades 2 being in development since 2021, Supergiant Games has maintained a veil of secrecy around most performance aspects. Their discretion regarding the new installment has been such that they've refrained from disclosing the recommended PC requirements until the early access period. In fact, they have yet to confirm all platforms on which the game will be released.
Comparing Hades 2’s PC Requirements with Hades 1
The most significant shift in system requirements from Hades 1 to Hades 2 pertains to graphics cards. While the previous version could operate on integrated GPUs, Hades 2 mandates dedicated graphics cards that deliver significantly enhanced performance—albeit at a higher cost. Regarding CPU, both games are expected to perform adequately with a dual-core 2.4 GHz option, whereas in terms of memory, the new title will require fans to upgrade to at least 8 GB of RAM for smooth performance.
While Hades 1 was launched for Mac OS and is compatible with the Steam Deck, Hades 2 has not yet been confirmed for Mac devices, though it's confirmed to be compatible with Steam Deck now that the game is in early access. Currently, the developer, Supergiant Games, has only confirmed that the early-access phase will debut on Steam and Epic Games, the same platforms where they conducted the Technical Test period.
