Manor Lords | How to Start for Beginners
Breaking through in the early stages of “Manor Lords” can be quite challenging. Players need to ensure that public opinion is not too low in the early stages, and housing must meet demand. How to break through in the early stages of “Manor Lords”? Let’s take a look together.
At the start of the game, keep building houses quickly. This way, public opinion will not drop below 50, and people will keep coming, which forms the basic foundation.
The five-piece housing set (well, church, firewood, types of food, types of textiles) - any unmet demand will halt development. The order is firewood → well → house points out planting vegetables and raising chickens → leather factory → sawmill/quarry (church).
Technology trade route 25 pieces → import minus 10 → coal, must be prioritized. This food relies on gathering in the early stage and importing grain to grind flour → bread in the later stage. Don’t think about farming, the return is extremely low.
Quickly build a trading post at the start of the game, sell leather and small shields. The leather factory uses animal skins to make leather, and small shields are directly made by a carpenter in a 2nd level house. This is the main source of income in the early and middle stages.
Build a manor and quickly levy taxes in the first year. When tax revenue is raised to more than 50 public opinion, hire a team of bandits, so no one will come to harass, at least not for the first two years.
Use the money raised by tax revenue to win the Baron’s encounter battle, instantly hire 3 teams of mercenaries + 1 team of bandits + militia (infantry first, spearmen second, bows are useless in the early stage). Infantry equipment iron ore, forging furnace, 2nd level house makes swords, militia infantry is stronger than bandits, spearmen are a bit weaker, combat power is roughly equal to bandits.
After winning the encounter battle, the plot is yours, no need to buy with reputation. After the fight, disband and leave 1 group of bandits to prevent wild bandits from setting fire and stealing home.
By this analogy, develop in this way when you take down a plot. In the later stage, when there is more iron ore, sell iron plate weapons and equipment, money is constant, when the population rises, you can build hundreds of militia yourself, not afraid of the Baron’s attack, of course, the best method is to temporarily pull mercenaries, when the population rises, tax revenue is also high, it’s no problem to raise three or four groups of mercenaries casually.
