Manor Lords | How to Make Money
Manor Lords is a medieval strategy game that combines deep, organic, and realistic city-building with large-scale tactical battles. As a feudal lord, you’ll experience the changing seasons, shifting weather, and the rise and fall of cities. Let’s explore some tips on how to make money quickly in Manor Lords:
Early Exploration:
Plant Flax and Sell Linen: Cultivate flax and sell linen for a stable and substantial income.
Hunt and Sell Animal Skins: Raise sheep and sell their skins (especially useful in barren regions). Later, consider selling boots for higher prices once trade routes open up.
Once you’ve earned your first substantial amount of money, prepare to buy weapons.
Village Upgrades and Trade:
Upgrade your village twice to gain 2 development points.
Access the village level screen and click on Development > Trade Logistics > Better Trade.
Now you can engage in buying and selling. Focus on resources and population growth. Sell a variety of goods and recruit more militia to fend off bandits.
National Treasury and Taxes:
Unlike regional wealth, the national treasury relies solely on taxes and consumes a significant amount of public opinion.
Aim for a public opinion of 80 or higher before imposing taxes.
After constructing the Lord’s Manor (called the Estate), click on Buildings > Taxes.
Collect taxes while listening to the villagers’ lamentations.
Use the national treasury to hire mercenaries, recruit or upgrade elite retainers.
