Open world zombie survival game ＂7 Days to Die＂ 1.0 official version launched in June

Developed by Texas-based game developer The Fun Pimps Entertainment, "7 Days to Die" is an open-world zombie survival game currently available for early access on PC Steam, with console versions for PS4 and Xbox One also released. The PC 1.0 version is slated for an official launch in June this year (with console versions following in July), accompanied by the unveiling of a future roadmap for players' reference.


Set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies after the Third World War, "7 Days to Die" thrusts players into the deserted landscape of Arizona, where they must fight for survival. The title refers to the concept that once infected by the mysterious pathogen that has spread globally, individuals will transform into zombies after seven days. Players must fend off zombie attacks while scavenging for essential weapons, shelter, supplies, and food, all while contending with the undead spawned by atomic dust.


Since its early access debut in 2013, the game has undergone numerous updates to enrich its content and enhance its gameplay, earning "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews from Steam users. The development team has committed to continuing development post-official launch and has teased upcoming updates through a new video outlining the game's future roadmap.


According to the roadmap, the official release will introduce vehicles, animals, and other content, along with graphics updates to balance gameplay. In Q4 of 2024, significant updates will focus on weather and biome systems, with console versions implementing cross-platform play and random map generation. Subsequent updates in Q2 of 2025 will emphasize "new threats," hinting at the implementation of new mission types, followed by more content and adjustments related to journeys in Q4 of 2025.


Post-official release, the game's price will increase from the original $24.99 to $44.99 in June, reflecting the various improvements made since the early access release. This adjustment aims to unify the pricing across PC and console versions. To accommodate this change, a promotional event offering a 76% discount will run on Steam from April 22nd to 29th, providing an opportunity for players to purchase the game at a reduced price.
