**Resetting Skill Points**
In The Last Epoch, there are two types of points that can be reset: points invested in the active skill tree and points in the passive tree. It is possible to reset both types of points or just one of them.
1. **Resetting Points in the Skill Tree**
Each skill has its own experience and level, and by reaching a new level, players earn a skill point, with a maximum of 20 points. Players can equip gear that provides additional skill points of 1 or more. Both gear and skill points can be reset separately.
For the portion of skill points provided by gear, it operates similarly to unequipping and re-equipping the gear, and it takes effect immediately without any additional cost.
When resetting points earned through leveling up, it becomes more complicated:
- Each skill has a specialization level requirement. Points invested in skills below this level will be immediately refunded. The specialization level starts at 1 and increases as the character levels up, with a maximum of 10.
- All points above the specialization level requirement need to be re-selected.
To reset the skill tree, open the skill menu by pressing 'S,' choose the specialization and skill you want to reset, then click the reset button in the top right corner, and select the option to refund the skill points. Afterward, players can remove points by clicking on the nodes in the skill tree, one point at a time.
It's essential to note that if a node to be removed is connected to other activated nodes, the points on that node cannot be removed if it requires the activation of 3 points from a previous connected node, the points on that previous node must be at least 3.
To completely reset the skill tree and start fresh, players can choose to revoke specialization. This unlocks the specialization column for reselecting skills, effectively wiping out all points at once.
If players don't want to change the points spent in the skill tree but wish to select different skills entirely, they can achieve this by clicking on revoke specialization. By removing the previous skills from the specialization column, they can freely choose other skills.
When resetting, a dialogue box will pop up where players can choose the method of reset.
2. **Resetting Passive Points**
Passive tree points can be acquired through leveling up and completing quests. To reset passive points, players need to talk to Time Weaver Lagonini located at the end of time or in the council chamber. Her position is marked on the mini-map with an icon resembling a brain (as shown in the image below).
After talking to Time Weaver Lagonini, select reallocate passive points to open the passive talent tree and choose which points to remove.
It's important to remember:
- Only one point can be removed at a time, and each removal incurs a cost in gold. The cost of removing points from nodes with many invested points will be higher.
- If the remaining points on a node being removed cannot satisfy the point requirements for activating higher-positioned nodes, the points on that node cannot be removed.
- If any points have been spent in passive skills from the specialization class, the points that can be removed from the basic skill's passive skill tree cannot exceed 20 points.
- After acquiring unallocated passive skill points, players can immediately reallocate these points. Unlike skill points, passive points do not require re-leveling.
3. **Mastering a Class**
Once a class specialization is chosen, it cannot be reselected or reset.
