The Elder Scrolls Online: Announcement of new expansion ＂Golden Path＂ trailer
In the Xbox Developer Showcase this morning, Bethesda announced the latest news on The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO). They revealed that a new expansion called The Golden Road will be released in 2024, marking the game's 10th anniversary. They also shared the updated roadmap for future updates and content.
The Golden Road expansion will be launched on June 3, 2024, for PC (DMM GAMES) players, followed by the release for consoles on June 18, 2024. This expansion is set in West Wield, a region located to the west of Cyrodiil and east of the Gold Coast, which is connected to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
The focal point of the story revolves around the resurrection of Lord Iserya, the forgotten ruler of Wield. In the midst of the chaos in West Wield, players will embark on a quest to uncover the mystery behind the resurrection, searching for Iserya's descendants and dealing with the turmoil caused by his minions.
West Wield is divided into three distinct biomes. The southeastern region known as the Golden Road features the capital city of Skingrad and offers a serene environment reminiscent of the Gold Coast. The southwestern region, Dawnwood, is being encroached upon by jungle vegetation. The northern region, Colovian Highlands, is a mountainous area with ruins and other ancient remnants. Players will have the opportunity to explore these diverse landscapes during their adventures.
In addition to the main storyline, The Golden Road expansion introduces new caves, dungeons, side quests, world bosses, and a new 12-player trial to challenge players. Furthermore, a new system called Scribing will be introduced, allowing players to customize their character's skill sets based on their preferences. New abilities for weapon skill lines will be added to cater to the Scribing system, enabling players to tailor their skills to their preferred playstyles.
According to the 2024 roadmap, the 41st update is scheduled for release in March 2024 and will feature a dungeon DLC called Descendants of Iserya as a precursor leading up to the arrival of The Golden Road expansion.
In August, following the launch of The Golden Road, the 43rd update will focus on improving gameplay mechanics and introducing content related to housing. The 44th update will introduce two new companions and implement new PvP-related initiatives.
2024 will be a celebratory year as ESO reaches its 10th anniversary, and there are many other undisclosed plans in preparation. Stay tuned for further updates and announcements.
