CDPR's Former Development Team's New Game ＂Dawnwalker: Origins＂ Planned for Release in 2025

Rebel Wolves Studio recently announced their upcoming game, Dawnwalker: Origins. The game is set to be released in 2025 for the PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC platforms.

Rebel Wolves Studio is made up of former CD Projekt developers and is based in Warsaw, Poland. It was founded by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who left CD Projekt to start his own studio.

Tomaszkiewicz is a senior veteran from CD Projekt Red and has worked on the Witcher series since the first game in 2007. He started as a story designer for The Witcher, became the lead quest designer for The Witcher 2, and eventually became the game director for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. He eventually rose to the position of Vice President at CD Projekt Red.

Following an investigation into workplace bullying allegations, Tomaszkiewicz chose to leave his position at CD Projekt Red, despite being cleared of any wrongdoing by the investigation committee.

Tomaszkiewicz then went on to establish Rebel Wolves Studio, and Dawnwalker: Origins will be their debut project, utilizing the Unreal Engine 5.

According to the information currently available, Dawnwalker: Origins is set in a new dark fantasy world and is described as a AAA game. The developers aim to completely change the RPG genre. The game will feature open-world elements but will have a smaller scale compared to The Witcher series, although the number of quests will be roughly the same. In terms of scale, the game will be similar to the expansion Blood and Wine. It will have the same content across all platforms, with no exclusive items or quests.

Microtransactions will not be present in the game. Currently, the game is in its alpha stage. Approximately 100 people have been involved in its development three months ago, and the studio is continuously expanding its team with new developers. The release is planned for 2025 on the PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC platforms.

In Dawnwalker: Origins, players can expect an immersive dark fantasy world with intense gameplay, impactful choices, and a captivating storyline.
