Genshin Impact 4.2: Recommendations for Pulling the Staff of Homa
Genshin Impact 4.2 - The Staff of Homa is not recommended for pulling. It has an unattractive appearance and is suitable for characters that rely on elemental mastery, such as Xinyan and Hu Tao. If you urgently need a 5-star polearm, you can consider pulling for it.
1. Basic Attributes:
The Staff of Homa is a weapon with low base ATK but high substats. At level 90, its base ATK is only 542. The secondary stat is a 44.1% crit rate, which is the same as the Summit Shaper.
The weapon's passive effect is quite interesting. It provides an ATK bonus based on elemental mastery, with a base 52% elemental mastery ATK bonus. Additionally, hitting enemies with the character's Elemental Skill triggers another 28% elemental mastery ATK bonus that can stack up to 3 times within 10 seconds.
2. Strength and Versatility:

Based on its attributes, this weapon is suitable for characters with the following characteristics:
- Characters that require a high elemental mastery
- Characters with a short Elemental Skill cooldown and can frequently use it to deal damage
Therefore, the versatility of this weapon is average. It is mainly suitable for polearm users who need to stack elemental mastery. Apart from Xinyan, the only other viable options would be Hu Tao and Xiangling. Other characters like Zhongli, Xiao, and Raiden Shogun do not prioritize building elemental mastery, except for Raiden Shogun who has an elemental mastery gameplay style but doesn't specifically require this weapon.
Using this weapon on characters who do not meet the above criteria would only serve as a high critical rate weapon, which may not be worth it.
The most suitable character for this weapon is undoubtedly Xinyan, as this weapon is specifically designed for her. Xinyan is the main DPS character introduced in the Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia version, focusing on the Overloaded reaction with Electro and Pyro. As we know, the damage bonus from Overloaded relies on elemental mastery, and the higher the elemental mastery, the higher the damage bonus.
In most cases, the main DPS character usually carries an ATK-increasing weapon like the Prototype Archaic. However, if Xinyan uses a weapon that boosts elemental mastery, her ATK will be relatively low. The passive effect of the Staff of Homa can perfectly compensate for Xinyan's lack of ATK.
In terms of strength, calculations show that with a full stack, a character can gain a 52% 28% x 3 = 136% elemental mastery ATK bonus, which means that with 350 elemental mastery, the character can gain an additional 476 ATK. A level 90 Xinyan equipped with this weapon can reach a base ATK of 860. Therefore, the passive effect is roughly equivalent to providing a 55% ATK bonus, which is equivalent to having 11 additional major ATK substats. This effect is very strong and can be considered a top-tier weapon in terms of strength.
3. Can Hu Tao use this weapon?
Since Hu Tao relies mainly on Vaporize damage, she also requires a certain amount of elemental mastery. The crit rate substat of this weapon is also beneficial for Hu Tao.
4. Can Xiangling use this weapon?
In conclusion, Xiangling can use this weapon, but it is not the optimal choice. It can be seen as an additional toy for her. Calculating her damage isn't the main concern for Xiangling, as her biggest requirement is energy recharge. By equipping this weapon and needing to use an elemental mastery artifact, the pressure to stack energy recharge becomes high.
Furthermore, the passive effect of this weapon requires the Elemental Skill to hit enemies to stack the buff. However, Xiangling's Elemental Skill has delayed damage, and most of the time, throwing a Guoba will cause her to switch to the backline. For Xiangling, weapons like the Dragon's Bane, Skyward Spine, or the Crescent Pike that focus on energy recharge would be more recommended. It is not necessary to forcefully use this weapon.
