Optimizing DPS: A Guide to the 'Song of Days Past' Artifact in Genshin Impact
In the current version of Genshin Impact, the newly introduced artifact set "Song of Days Past" is considered a type of damage-boosting effect similar to Blizzard Strayer, with its damage increase mechanism resembling that of characters like Yoimiya and Shenhe. However, its effectiveness may currently be on par with Blizzard Strayer, and it is not recommended to exclusively use it to enhance the performance of support characters, particularly the healer.
Firstly, let's explain the effect of "Song of Days Past." This effect is akin to the basic damage increase mechanism of characters like Yoimiya and Shenhe. Specifically, it provides a boost to triggered damage forms, including increased damage, double crit rate, independent multiplier, resistance reduction, and defense reduction.
However, there are still two uncertainties regarding this artifact set:
Consumption Count: Does it reduce multiple times directly for multiple targets, similar to Yoimiya and Shenhe, or does it reduce only once for multiple targets?
Accumulation Time: The accumulation time is 6 seconds. Is it seamless to start the next accumulation after this period, or must it wait until the current accumulation is complete?
The first point will determine the actual effect of this artifact set on the main DPS character, as these are five shared boosts for the entire team. If the calculation method is similar to Yoimiya and Shenhe, it might result in a brief boost after the support character enters the field.
The second point affects the number of boosts a DPS axis can provide, directly impacting the final result.
While this artifact set may not have a broad application range in some aspects, even though it has some versatility for healers, it's currently challenging to confirm whether its effectiveness truly surpasses other supportive buffs. It's essential to note that expecting a single artifact set to outperform comprehensive support effects, especially when healers are already capable of performing well against or alongside Blizzard Strayer, is unrealistic.
Overall, caution is advised in the practical application of "Song of Days Past," and it's recommended to observe its performance in actual gameplay.
