Genshin Impact: Ballad of the Fjords Best Character

Analysis of the Ballad of the Fjords Weapon
The Ballad of the Fjords has a base attack of 510 and a critical rate of 27.6%. The basic attributes are quite balanced. The passive effect increases elemental mastery by 120 when there are at least three different elemental types in the team.
In theory, as long as it’s not a mono-element team, you can fully utilize the passive effect of the weapon. The theoretical value at full mastery is 240.
Analysis of Characters Suitable for Ballad of the Fjords
(1) Hu Tao
Hu Tao doesn’t have many polearm weapons to choose from. Among the five-star weapons, Homa and Crimson Witch are the first choices, followed by Whiteblind. Among the four-star weapons, Blackcliff Warbow has always been the best, followed by Duel.
The Ballad of the Fjords provides Hu Tao with very important attributes: double crit and mastery, which Hu Tao needs most. Moreover, this weapon has a high base attack. Hu Tao is a character who doesn’t rely on attack power, but she has certain requirements for base attack. A base attack lower than 500 will cause some loss for Hu Tao.
Excluding Homa, Hu Tao’s current best choice is Crimson Witch, but she can’t fully utilize its special effect (Hu Tao’s attack model is based on HP bonus, so the attack power provided by Crimson Witch is very useful for Hu Tao).
As for other weapons, including Whiteblind, none can beat this new monthly card weapon, Ballad of the Fjords.
Hu Tao’s previous four-star exclusive weapon was Blackcliff Warbow, which provides high mastery and passive damage increase. However, Blackcliff’s problem is its low base attack,
Especially under double Hydro resonance enhancement, Blackcliff’s low base attack becomes more prominent, causing Hu Tao’s HP gain to have no benefit beyond 35800. The damage increase from its passive effect and Night Lantern is also in one multiplication area. The current version of Blackcliff is no longer brilliant.
The Ballad of the Fjords has no shortcomings at present. Its base attack, crit rate, and mastery are all attributes that Hu Tao needs most. With Ballad of the Fjords, a Hu Tao with HP sands can easily stack up to 300 mastery while ensuring double crit and HP.
Whiteblind’s biggest problem is that it requires stacking layers. Without full layers, it provides little benefit to Hu Tao. Even with full layers, it barely beats Ballad of the Fjords at refinement rank 1.
A fully refined Ballad of the Fjords can definitely outperform Whiteblind. In theory, the gap between a fully refined Ballad and Homa is less than 10%.
(2) Cyno
There’s not much to say about Cyno. Her core exclusive weapon is Tiny Miracle. Her damage increases with her own constellation level and Tiny Miracle’s constellation level increase; therefore, her weapon isn’t that important.
Cyno can only use two weapons at most; Duel can be used reluctantly. However, after Ballad came out, it became the first choice among four-star weapons for Sayu.
Unlike Hu Tao, Cyno benefits more from higher mastery. Among five-star weapons for Cyno: Crimson Witch > Whiteblind > Homa; while Ballad at refinement rank 1 and Homa basically have no difference.
Cyno mainly deals Swirl reactions; both double crit and mastery have high returns for her. The Ballad perfectly fits her needs; players who like Sayu can switch to Ballad for her (whales will definitely go for her exclusive weapon). The appearance of this weapon also signifies graduation.
(3) Xiangling
Xiangling can use Ballad of the Fjords and deal high damage with it; however, there’s still an old problem: energy recharge!

Currently, this weapon can only be refined to rank 2. However, the passive effect provided by this weapon is quite generous; each refinement gives an increase equivalent to one and a half artifact attributes,
At full refinement rank it gives an increase equivalent to six artifact attributes; it’s a weapon with high refinement return. Players who main Hu Tao or Sayu should consider it as a priority.
