10 Best Clash Royale Epic Cards
Clash Royale came out in 2016 for mobile devices, and even though many play the game quite lightheartedly, you can get serious about the strategy and cards, as it's very competitive. Depending on which cards you use, and how you’re using them, you will either win incredibly or lose miserably.
In Clash Royale, there are different classes of cards, these include Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Champion. When it comes to Epic cards, they are known for their power and destructive capabilities, but also don’t appear as frequently in chests. Still, it's totally a must-have for your deck, and you should choose them depending on their versatility and how well it fits your playstyle.
10. Tornado
Many of you experienced the annoying forceful displacement of your troops done by this particular spell. The Tornado is a powerful card that moves all troops within the vicinity to a chosen area on the map. It’s used to slow down attacks, divert attacks, or purposefully activate the King Tower in order to better defend itself.
This Epic card only costs three Elixir, so it can be used more frequently. It's a great spell to consider for your deck, as it’s an eccentric one and unlike other cards in the game.
9. Skeletons
This is a horde you don't want to see when you're out of Elixir. This large group of skeletons will absolutely devastate your Princess Tower if you don't have anyone to protect you. These guys are one of the reasons why you should always carry an area damage spell card, such as arrows, or the zap spell.
Skeletons will take down severe ground troops, such as the Prince, Giant, and other characters with very high HP or damage. This card can be fantastically paired up with other characters, such as the Lumberjack, which will give incredible speed to these little yet devastating beings.
8. Freeze
The absolute havoc the Freeze card can create is potentially extremely damaging. This spell, in combination with other cards, will obliterate a tower in a short amount of time. Although you may have difficulty with the placement timing in the beginning, once you start to get the hang of it, the Freeze card will be your best friend.
Unlike other spell cards, such as Rage, the Freeze card can better defend your base by freezing enemy troops and buying time to kill troops.
7. Goblin Barrel
This trio can be an unexpectedly potent contender for your rivals. Often, these creatures are underestimated because it’s not apparently a strong force. However, the Goblin Barrel is fantastic to use when your rival has run out of Elixir.
Three Elixir is the just cost for this particular card, so it's great for making quick surprise attacks that will reduce the enemy's Princess Tower’s HP over time. A tactic often used is to first allow one of your troops to cross the bridge to distract the tower from the Goblin Barrel. Also, it makes a great combo with other cards, like Freeze, and Rage.
6. Golem
This card can be a hit or miss, depending on how well you use him. The Golem is better placed right behind your King Tower, so it takes a while to get into your enemy's base. You want this because you need to gain more Elixir to place more cards to support the Golem to powerfully attack your enemy.
The Golem is expensive as it costs eight Elixir, so you do need to be very considerate when you decide to use him. When the Golem is killed, two Golemites emerge so it’s just difficult to kill him in general.
5. Prince
Who can forget about this handsome man? One of the first cards you're introduced to in Clash Royale, the Prince is a strong troop who quickly rides his pony courageously onto enemy territory. His weapon of choice, the lance, is used to stab rivals, killing them slowly but surely.
However, hordes — such as skeletons, goblins, and minions — can easily take him down, so it's a good idea to pair him up with another flying troop, or use an area spell card when necessary. All in all, he is an iconic character in the Epic roster.
4. Baby Dragon
The Baby Dragon is truly an adorable creature, but don't let his cute looks fool you. This fella is a powerful dragon that will make a fantastic flying troop for your deck. He is both great with offensive and defensive maneuvers, and he can protect your base against ruinous hordes.
The Baby Dragon can also be utilized with other troops to formulate a powerful counter assault, and is great for protecting his fellow ground troops as well. A cool trick you can do with him is to place him behind a Balloon, which he will push forward in a quicker manner.
3. P.E.K.K.A
A character whose hits strike extremely high damage, P.E.K.K.A is a devastating ground soldier to have on your team. There aren't many others that can compare to the force that she hits with. When defending your base against her, it's important to use a card as bait for her, and then deploy other cards to damage and kill her quickly. If this fails, P.E.K.K.A will strike your Tower and quickly reduce its health. She is a powerful card, but needs to be used with precision in order to be effective.
2. The Witch
The majority of Clash Royale players react the same way when they see the Witch — with dread. This is for good reason, as the Witch is a powerful character with the ability to simultaneously attack both ground and flying troops. It’s a distinctive trait and is not seen a lot within the card selection.
Even though she costs five Elixir, she will most likely protect you well and will be very difficult to reach and destroy. If the enemy fails to kill her, she can be used to build up a fantastic counterattack. This will be horrible news for them and a potential victory for you!
1. Balloon
The skeleton flying this Balloon is not your typical Clash Royale skeleton. This guy will drop bombs on your tower and will quickly destroy them within a couple of seconds. This can be avoided if you quickly shoot it down. When using this card, it is important to place cards in front of the balloon in order to suck in all the damage and protect it.
If you level up the Balloon, it’s almost a guarantee to significantly damage your rival's base. This, of course, is only true if used with a decent amount of skill and wise timing. The Balloon is simply one of the best Epic cards for your deck.
