Where are All Yellow Herbs Resident Evil 4 Remake
Despite their humble looks, yellow herbs have always played a significant role in the Resident Evil franchise. In the original RE4, for example, Leon needed them in his healing potions to get permanent health boosts. A yellow herb is a healing potion ingredient with the ability to increase the consumer’s health permanently. In Resident Evil 4 Remake, Leon can either find this item in specific locations or buy it from the Merchant in exchange for Spinels.
Excluding the one sold by the Merchant, there are 18 yellow herbs in the RE4 remake, one per Chapter from Chapters 1 through 12; and two per Chapter in Chapters 13, 14, and 15. The only Chapter with no yellow herbs is Chapter 16. Leon’s health bar maxes out after consuming 12-13 Red-Green-Yellow potions. But it may take more to maximize his HP with other combinations like Red + Yellow.
Yellow Herb Locations
Chapter 1: Farm
The first yellow herb is on the Farm inside the mill. This is where a Brute attacks Leon for the first time.
Chapter 2: Valley
The second yellow herb is in the first house on the right in the Valley. The door is locked, and the player must get in through the window.
Chapter 3: Dockyard (Lake)
There’s a yellow herb in the cabin near the boat in the dockyard.
Chapter 4: Large Cave Shrine
When searching for the Church Key in the Large Cave Shrine, Leon can find a yellow herb near the hanging treasure.
Chapter 5: Village Chief’s Manor (Attic)
The fifth yellow herb is in the attic of the Village Chief’s Manor. In Chapter 5, Leon can ask Ashley to open the path to the Chief’s house’s attic, where he can get a yellow herb and destroy one of the Clockwork Castellans.
Chapter 6: Checkpoint Area
The sixth yellow herb is on the wooden stairs in the Checkpoint area, where the Chainsaw Sisters attack Leon.
Chapter 7: Audience Chamber
Audience Chamber is where Leon meets Ramon Salazar for the first time. The seventh yellow herb can be found here inside one of the cabinets.
Chapter 8: Castle Battlements
A yellow herb is located on the left tower in the Castle Battlements. Right when the armored Gigante attacks Leon, he must jump down the cavity on the left and go up the ladder to find it.
Chapter 9: Courtyard Room
At the beginning of Chapter 9, in the Courtyard room, a yellow herb is sitting next to the typewriter.
Chapter 10: Depths
The tenth yellow herb is behind the stonewall in the Depths.
Chapter 11: Hive
In the Hive, there’s a yellow herb in the minecart storage area. This is where the player finds a Blue Request to destroy all hive entrances.
Chapter 12: Clock Tower Rooftop
After getting off the Clock Tower elevator, the player can get a yellow herb near the typewriter in the Merchant’s cabin.
Chapter 13: Wharf Cave
Before leaving Wharf, the player can find the thirteenth yellow herb inside the cave.
Chapter 13: Incubation Lab
Incubation Lab is where Leon gets the Biosensor Scope. There's also a yellow herb near the lab behind the stairs.
Chapter 14: Amber Storeroom
A yellow herb is on the wooden boxes near the giant amber in Chapter 14.
Chapter 14: The Ruins
During the Krauser boss fight, the player can find a yellow herb inside the dark room.
Chapter 15: Stronghold Area
A yellow herb is in the turret room near the Stronghold area in Chapter 15.
Chapter 15: Sanctuary Approach
The last yellow herb can be found in the Sanctuary Approach passed the Specimen Storage.
What Happens After Getting All The Yellow Herbs?
There is no trophy or achievement for collecting all yellow herbs in the Resident Evil 4 remake. Leon can either consume them to maximize his health or sell them to the Merchant to earn more money. Maximizing Leon's HP with yellow herbs completes the "My Body Is a Temple" challenge.
