How To Get Stingray In Resident Evil 4 Remake
Resident Evil 4 remake follows Leon Kennedy on his quest to find and rescue Ashley Graham from the clutches of an infected cult. Sadly, finding Ashley is easier said than done, as Leon must face countless hoards of infected villagers in order to get to her. At the beginning of the game, fighting these enemies can be quite difficult, especially due to Leon's lack of powerful weapons.
Thankfully, Leon can obtain new weapons as the player progresses through RE4 remake's main story. That said, some weapons are harder to acquire than others, especially if players don't know where to begin looking for them. The Stingray rifle, however, is pretty hard to miss, but some players may wish to avoid getting it.
How To Get The Stingray Rifle In Resident Evil 4 Remake
The Stingray is the second rifle Leon can obtain during the main story of Resident Evil 4 remake. Before it becomes available, players can acquire the SR M1903 rifle in its stead during Chapter 2 by purchasing it from the Merchant for 12,000 Pesetas. This rifle can be extremely helpful during the game's first few chapters, but players should really consider replacing it when they reach Chapter 7.
In Chapter 7, Leon can purchase the Stingray rifle from the Merchant for 30,000 Pesetas. At this point in the game, players should have more than enough money to buy this weapon, but if they are struggling to afford it, they should sell the treasures they have collected during their ventures. Inlaying gemstones into certain treasures will increase their overall value, allowing Leon to receive even more Pesetas when he sells them, making it easier for him to acquire the funds needed to buy the Stingray.
Is The Stingray Rifle Worth It?
By the time players can purchase the Stingray rifle, they may have already gotten accustomed to their current weapon loadout. To make matters even more complicated, those who have obtained the SR M1903 may find it to be a perfectly adequate rifle that does not need replacing.
That said, the Stingray rifle comes with a few enhancements that the SR M1903 simply doesn't have. It shines when it has been fully upgraded in the Tune-Up menu, but making it reach its maximum potential can be quite costly.
1. When fully enhanced, the Stingray provides a total of 4.90 Power, but the SR M1903 offers 5.30, making it slightly stronger.
2. The Stingray's Ammo Capacity becomes 18 when completely tuned up, while the SR M1903 only reaches 13.
3. The SR M1903's fully enhanced Reload Speed allows Leon to load 5 rounds at a time, but the Stingray's maximum Reload Speed is 1.18, which is much faster.
4. The Stingray's fully enhanced Rate of Fire is 0.92, but the SR M1903 only offers 0.53.
5. The Stingray's Exclusive upgrade multiplies the gun's Rate of Fire by 2, while the SR M1903's Exclusive upgrade multiplies the gun's Power by 2.
Though the SR M1903 is a more powerful rifle, the Stingray is a must-have for those fond of rapid fire. This, combined with the weapon's precise sight, makes the Stingray a true force to be reckoned with, especially for when Leon is dealing with large enemy groups. Even after players unlock the CQBR Assault Rifle in Chapter 10, the Stingray will remain an equally, if not more efficient rifle.
Though it is possible to complete the game without obtaining the Stingray, players hoping to obtain the Gun Fanatic trophy/achievement will need to purchase it at some point during their playthrough.
