How To Get LE 5 In Resident Evil 4 Remake
Resident Evil 4 remake follows Leon Kennedy on his mission to rescue Ashley Graham from the cult that kidnapped her. While playing through the main story, players can acquire a variety of unique weapons to aid Leon on his journey, but some, like the LE 5 SMG, are harder to find than others.
Most of the weapons players will acquire during their RE4 remake playthrough will be obtained via the Merchant, but some weapons can only be found by exploring. The LE 5 is no exception, but its location can be pretty nerve-wracking to search due to the powerful enemies present there. Players can easily miss the LE 5 if they are rushing toward the game's climax, which is a shame as it can be quite useful.
How To Get The LE 5 SMG In Resident Evil 4 Remake
Unlike most weapons in Resident Evil 4 remake, the LE 5 SMG can actually be found and obtained for free before it becomes available at the Merchant's shop. It can be found during Chapter 13 by gaining access to the Freezer, but doing so is easier said than done, thanks to the Regenerador wandering the area.
To gain access to the Freezer, Leon will first need to obtain the Level 1 Keycard from the Dissection room, after which he must activate the Power Control Lever in the southern room. Once this has been done, all the player needs to do to enter the Freezer is interact with the Level 1 Keycard Lock next to the entrance. The Regenerador will not follow Leon into this room.
Inside, Leon should turn right and interact with the Electronic Lock Terminal. Solving this puzzle will open the door behind it.
Once the door has been opened, the LE 5 can be found lying on top of the crate just inside. Players should avoid interacting with the Overwrite Terminal until they have acquired the LE 5, as doing so will cause a second Regenerador to appear.
If players happen to miss out on acquiring the LE 5 during Chapter 13, they can interact with the Merchant in Chapter 14, from whom Leon can purchase the weapon for 35,000 Pesetas.
Finding the LE 5 in Chapter 13 is by far the best way to acquire this weapon, but those who missed it can rest assured knowing that they can obtain it later, so long as they can afford it. The LE 5 must be obtained at some point if players hope to earn the Gun Fanatic trophy/achievement.
Is The LE 5 SMG Worth It?
If players manage to obtain the LE 5 during Chapter 13, they will probably get great use out of it. When fully upgraded, it is slightly more powerful than the TMP SMG, and though its Ammo Capacity and Reload Speed aren't as impressive, its Exclusive upgrade is more than enough to make it superior.
When fully upgraded, the LE 5 boasts an impressive 1.20 Power, while the TMP only reaches 1.10.
The LE 5's Ammo Capacity can reach 60, but the TMP's can reach 70.
The LE 5's Reload Speed will become 1.05 when fully enhanced, but the TMP's will become 1.40.
The LE 5's Exclusive upgrade allows the weapon to "Penetrate through 5 targets," and the TMP's "Increases power by 1.5x."
The Chicago Sweeper is arguably the best SMG in the game, but seeing as it can only be obtained by completing the game on Professional Mode, the LE 5 is a better choice. This, alongside the LE 5's Exclusive upgrade, makes it the most reliable SMG most Resident Evil 4 remake players can obtain.
