Waldyr
One of the great heroes that you can pair with Alwyn is Waldyr. Together they can deal decent damage, but what is more important is that they will slow down the enemy and put a lot of debuffs on them. This means that your other troops will be able to change enemies and deal more damage to them. Feel free to use the Waldyr talent tree.
Atheus
If you do not have Waldyr, then you can pair Atheus and Alwyn. They are both great for mage units, and they will be able to deal decent damage.
